who had been delayed by
Canadian and U.S. customs
officials. They had been
subjected to a bizarre
search and interrogation
over the ritual equipment
that they brought for the
initiation ceremony. The
brothers fortunately
managed to convince the
officials that they were not
a cult without revealing the
nature of the equipment!
On Saturday, the
installation ceremony was
held at the Chateau Laurier
Hotel in downtown
Ottawa, one of the most
magnificent old hotels in
Canada. Tony Ambrose,
Rusty Richardson, Rob
Mcinnes, Don Fraser, Don
Halpenny, Sanjay Sodha,
John Carson, Jeff Specht,
and Rick Leblanc performed
the ceremony. Tony
Ambrose presented the
charter to President Tony
Robillard and past president,
Eric Perron.
The reception and
banquet at the Chateau
Laurier were lavish. The
Canadian and U.S. national
anthems were sung at the
beginning of the banquet,
the visiting U.S. brothers
singing Oh, Canada with as
much vigor as their
Canadian brothers.
The banquet ended with
a slide show and the
singing of Phi Delt songs.
Dinner was followed by
a dance co-hosted by AOll
at the Congress Centre. The
sorority had been installed
that same day.
The chapter thanks the
brothers who helped
purchase the new ritual
equipment. Thanks also to
Fred Green, the General
Headquarters staff, the
installation committee, and
Don Fraser. •
