86 Memo FILE: FIN.AUD.VAG Annual Report To: Chief Administrative Officer From: Director of Finance Date: June 10, 2009 Subject: 2008 Annual Report Report The District's 2008 Annual Report, which includes our 2008 Audited Financial Statements, is enclosed. Per the Community Charter, Council is to consider its Annual Report at a public meeting. The Report also needs to be sent to the Ministry by June 30 th , 2009. The highlights of the District's financial position and results are noted in the "Report from Director of Finance" on page 3 of the Annual Report. Staff will once again be submitting our Annual Report to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for consideration for an award in financial reporting. Our auditor, BDO Dunwoody LLP, will be in attendance at the meeting to address any questions, including those related to the audit reports within the Annual Report.
