CHRIST'S ROBE<br />

<strong>The</strong> Woman with an Issue <strong>of</strong> Blood<br />

"And touched the border <strong>of</strong> his garment." Luke viii. 44.<br />

<strong>The</strong> case <strong>of</strong> this woman was extremely pathetic.<br />

For twelve years she had groaned under her complaint,<br />

banned <strong>by</strong> the law, banished from intercourse<br />

from her friends, trying many physicians, being worse<br />

rather than better for their treatment, and after<br />

having long been reduced to hopelessness, she is<br />

now awakened to a new possibility. He had<br />

come concerning whom the national bard had said<br />

" He healeth all thy diseases," and with a feeling <strong>of</strong><br />

expectation in her mind, to which she had long been<br />

a stranger, she came to the new Healer who had<br />

risen among men. His fame had gone far and<br />

wide, He had cured people <strong>of</strong> every ailment, with<br />

the ease and readiness which proved Him to have<br />

unfailing resources. He was even then proceeding<br />

on a mission in behalf <strong>of</strong> the daughter <strong>of</strong> a rich<br />

functionary in the Jewish Church when He was<br />

arrested <strong>by</strong> a unique experience. " Virtue had gone<br />

out <strong>of</strong> Him." No words had passed, no appeal had<br />
