John Rolfe. <strong>The</strong>y had 10 children: 4. sons and 6 daughters,<br />

pa 216. Hkjm Peter kdgman (circa 1700-1765) and<br />
lbgaret llauzy (1702-1754), his wifo, had three sons to live to<br />
maturity, vizz<br />
(1) William Hedgman (1732-1765) died without issue. By their<br />
last wills and Testaments both he and his father disinherited their<br />
only heir, John Hedm (1758-1796), and bequeathed their handaoare<br />
estates to others.<br />
(2) George Hedgman (1734-1760) married on November 27, 7756<br />
Hannah Ball Daniel (1737-1829), daughter of Peter Daniel, Gentleman,<br />
(1706-177), also a vestryman in Overwharton Parish, <strong>The</strong>ir only<br />
child was John Hedm (1758-1796); he married Catherine <strong>Grayson</strong>,<br />
dalgh-ber of the Reverend bk. Spence <strong>Grayson</strong> (1734-1798)) rector of<br />
Dettingan P ~ish, Prince lJilliam County, and left issue. Hannah<br />
Ball (~aniel) kdgman married secondly on Nuch 12, 1765 Gilson<br />
Foote, Gentleman (1736-1770) of Fauquier County ard thirdly, John<br />
wdg. (17 -179~1 of Staff ord CouFj.tg. <strong>The</strong> above account will corredt<br />

D.C., to whom we are indebted for a most informative fanily manuscript<br />
mitten about 1848 in which he records many gened.ogical facts<br />
of several Staff ord County families which would otherwise have been<br />
lost, I& married first on February 11, 1793 Susanna blonroe Crayon<br />
May 29, 1768- April 20, 1822), daughter of the Reverend I&, Spence<br />
<strong>Grayson</strong> (173&179E50, and seconCUy on AprU 11, 1323, Sally Johnson<br />
(October 9, 1797-August 15, 1971 ), daughter of John Johnson of<br />
Worchsster County, 1.hryland. Lund Washington left issue by both<br />
wives; he and some other members of his family are buried in the<br />
Congressional Cemetery, tlas hington, D .C ,<br />
p. 224. Travers Cooke, Gentleman, (m 1~30-1759) was<br />
the only son of John Coolto, Esq., (died 1733) and Zliaabeth Trqvcrs,<br />
his wife, mentioned on page 223. fb lived but two years after the<br />

Doniphan (1737-1781), daughter of NoGt Doniphan, Gentleman, also a<br />
vestryman in Overwharton Parish. Mzry (~oni~han) Cooke married<br />
