NAME: This is the name of the head d the family. The last name is listed
firat and is followed by the firat given nPme or names of the individual.
COUNTY I STATE: The names of the county and state where the census was
taken are given as indicated in the original census records. Place names are
spelled as given by the census enumerators.

PAGE: The page number indicates the page number in the printed volumes of
;ha 1790 census records as published by the United States Federal Government
Ln 1809. Most public libraries have a copy of this series.
COLUMNS: 4 t h s
a. Number of free whits males 16 years and upwards, including

B. Number of free white males under 16 years of age.

d. Number of all other free persons.
a. Number of elaves in the household.
TOWNSHIP: This is the Township, Town, City, Ward, Parish, Hundred, Precinct,
or District h which the family was living at the time of the cenaus enurnetatian.
YEAR: This indicates the year in which the census was taken. Vermont 1790
cenrus was actually taken in 1791. In many places the census enumerator required
many months to complete taking the census.
NOTE: Sometimes the census enumerators omitted items from the original records.
