The National Intelli~encer of 4 June 1829 is quoted in 48 NGSQ 84 as follows:
Captain William Grayson, aged 97, died 17 May in Albemarle
County, Va. He was born 25 Nov. 1732 i n Spotsylvania Co.Va.
In early life he was a soldier being in Forbes' s campaign
in 1758 i n an expedition to Fort Pitt (now Pittsburgh) to
expel the French and Indians from that part of the country.
During rllost of the Revolution he was also actively engaged,
mostly as a ranger, and had frequent skirmishes with the
Indians.
