Mrs. Dewey Underwood o Lufkin, Texas, has very kindly
suggested thqt you might be willing to provide me with
information concerning my line3g~.
f am the Great Grand-daughter of John Gravson, b. 1807
in Tennessee. He migrated from Hamilton County, Tennessee,
to Ouachita County, Arkansas, ca 1859, a.lar,g with his
wife, Sarah Frick (Frix/Fricks), and five sons and
four daughters (Goodspeed's History of South Arkansas.
John Grayson's youngest son, Zachasiah Taylor Grayson,
was my Grandfather.
The 1880 Arkansas census shows that John Grayson's
parents as having been born in North Carolina, I have
found a John Grayson avld a Benjamin Grayson fanily in
the 1790 North Carolina census, but carmot connect
either of them to my John Graysono
I have the D.A.R. papers on a John Grayson (Na.t. No, 506248),
b, ca 1727 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, and his
descendents, but find no connection to my family. Recently,

I sent for his son William's lineage, and hope to find
a connection with him.
A North Carolina Tax list showsa William Grayson in
Wilkes County in 1800, owning a land grant on the
Yadkin River.
I have been able to eliminate a John Grayson of Madison
County, Alabama, whose will of 1826 I have.
I would be very grateful to you for any information which
you might have that might be of assistance in tracing
my Grayson lineage. With many thanks for your assistance
