2013 Budget Highlights:
2013 Capital Considerations:
Staffing levels maintained
5 year contract in place with the City of
Bainbridge Island.
Finalize 3 year – 5 year service agreement
with Kitsap County.
BKAT will have $35,000.00 in PEG funding
from Kitsap County to spend for production
equipment and upgrades.
When finalized, the Comcast Franchise will
include PEG funding for capital items. The
cameras in the Council Chambers will need
replacement and relocation. We will also add
a 4 th camera in the back of the room (west
end column) for public meetings, etc.
2012 Accomplishments:
2013 Goals:
A generator was placed at BKAT in June
2012 through the Kitsap Co Dept of Emergency
Mgt and Kitsap County. This will enable
BKAT to continue airing messages in a
time of emergency.
BKAT is now being “streamed” from our
website. Content being streamed is what is
currently being shown on the channel.
Bremerton and Poulsbo City Council meetings,
County Commissioner Meetings and
the Port of Bremerton Meetings are archived
on the BKAT website. Citizens may choose
the meeting (by date) to view. Citizens may
also go directly to the agenda item they desire

Work with our Mayor and Department
Heads to use BKAT as their communication
tool.
Continue to support Kitsap County’s efforts
on BKAT programming outside of
Government Meetings.
Upgrade equipment for BKAT productions.
Work on the City of Bremerton on the
Franchise Agreement with Comcast (to be
finalized in 2013).
Look into costs and viability of “close captioning”
the channel to prepare for FCC
regulations that might impact public access
TV channels.
Finalize 3 year – 5 year service agreement
with Kitsap County.
