2013 Budget Highlights:
2012 Capital Considerations:
This function provides facility maintenance support
(landscape maintenance and building systems
maintenance; custodial and cleaning some inhouse,
some contracted) for all general-fund
owned facilities except Parks, including the Conference
Center, Norm Dicks Government Center,
Police and Fire, Court, Naval Museum, Equipment
services, Public Works Complex, Parking facilities,
Library, and the Ferry Terminal Tunnel Control
Room.
2013 is a “no frills” budget year for facilities
maintenance:
o Focus is to maintain similar level
of service to General Fund buildings
in 2013, with minor reduction
in funding
o Includes maintenance of new
parking garage
Police Roof repair to the Annex building
2012 Accomplishments:
2013 Goals:
Zero lost-time accidents
Zero lost-time accidents
Maintained landscaping at all City buildings
after maintenance contract was eliminated
to reduce costs.
Performed all needed repairs and corrections
at General Fund buildings and
grounds while staying within the budget
limits.
Expand use of the Cartegraph maintenance
software application in Facility operations
for both General Fund and Utility building
maintenance.
Identify and develop a plan to eliminate
existing structures which are no longer in
use (example: old Cencom building).
Tested all facility fire alarm and suppression
equipment as required under National
Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes.
Prepared installation site and contracted
for a new emergency generator at Fire Station
#1.
