The Loctite® LV Hand Held Applicator is a pneumatically operated, adjustable
seat valve designed for accurate dispensing of low viscosity adhesives including
cyanoacrylates. The valve body and stem are constructed of PTFE to prevent
premature curing and together with the fine tuning stroke
adjustment, this valve can deliver very small and repeatable
drop sizes shot after shot. This valve must be used in
conjunction with a Loctite® brand controller and product

Theory of Operation
When used in conjunction with a pressure-time controller and
adhesive reservoir, the valve is opened by an internal, single -
acting cylinder and piston rod. After initiating the control cycle,
the piston is pulled, opening the PTFE flow channel, and
allowing adhesive to pass. At the end of the controlled open time,
pressure is released and the valve is closed via an internal spring
mechanism, closing off the flow channel. The amount of
dispensed adhesive is controlled by adjustment of air pressure,
valve open time, size of dispensing needle, and piston stroke.
