20.27 Responsibility <strong>and</strong> defined accountability for <strong>the</strong> management <strong>and</strong> output <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> work <strong>of</strong><br />
o<strong>the</strong>rs <strong>and</strong> for a defined function or functions may be involved.<br />
20.28 Competency at this level involves <strong>the</strong> self-directed development <strong>of</strong> knowledge with<br />
substantial depth across a number <strong>of</strong> areas or mastery <strong>of</strong> a specialised area with a range <strong>of</strong><br />
skills.<br />
20.29 Application is to major functions in ei<strong>the</strong>r varied or highly specific contexts.<br />
20.30 Competencies are normally used independently <strong>and</strong> are substantially non-routine.<br />
20.31 Significant judgement is required in planning, design, technical or supervisory functions<br />
related to products, services, operations or processes.<br />
20.32 Subject to a formal work value evaluation under <strong>the</strong> Work Evaluation System applying to<br />
nursing classifications under clause 21, a Nurse Practitioner may be classified at <strong>the</strong> Nurse 6<br />
classification level.<br />
Nurse 7<br />
20.33 Work is likely to be in accordance with a broad plan, budget or strategy.<br />
20.34 Responsibility or broad ranging accountability for <strong>the</strong> structure, management <strong>and</strong> output <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> work <strong>of</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rs or functions may be involved.<br />
20.35 Competency at this level involves <strong>the</strong> self-directed development <strong>and</strong> mastery <strong>of</strong> broad or<br />
specialised areas <strong>of</strong> knowledge with a range <strong>of</strong> skills. Application is to major, broad or<br />
specialised functions in highly varied or highly specialised contexts.<br />
20.36 Competencies are normally used independently <strong>and</strong> are non-routine. Significant high level<br />
judgement is required in planning, design, operational, technical or management functions.<br />
Nurse 8<br />
20.37 Work is likely to involve full responsibility <strong>and</strong> accountability for all aspects <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> work <strong>of</strong><br />
o<strong>the</strong>rs <strong>and</strong> functions including planning, budgeting <strong>and</strong> strategy where required.<br />
20.38 Competency at this level involves self-directed development <strong>and</strong> mastery <strong>of</strong> a range <strong>of</strong><br />
knowledge <strong>and</strong> skills. Application is to major functions both broad or specialised within<br />
highly varied or highly specialised contexts.<br />
