in any fortnight not more than ten shifts are exceeded.<br />

3.5 A roster showing <strong>the</strong> normal hours <strong>of</strong> duty <strong>of</strong> all Employees, except Employees performing<br />

relief duties, will be posted in a place accessible to Employees at least seven days before it<br />

comes into operation but amendments may subsequently be made to <strong>the</strong> roster on account<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> sickness or absence <strong>of</strong> ano<strong>the</strong>r Employee, ei<strong>the</strong>r by mutual agreement or if<br />

departmental exigencies render any alteration necessary.<br />

3.6 A Registered Nurse, working in a school, will be employed in annual terms <strong>and</strong> on duty<br />

during school operating periods.<br />

3.7 During school closures <strong>the</strong>se <strong>nurses</strong> will take annual recreation leave, acquit <strong>the</strong>ir accrued<br />

hours gained from <strong>the</strong> 38 hours week provisions <strong>and</strong> be available for duty including inservice<br />

courses as required by <strong>the</strong> Department.<br />

3.8 A Registered Nurse, designated as a remote Community Health Nurse, will be entitled to<br />

accumulate up to five programmed days <strong>of</strong>f resulting from working 40 hours per week.<br />

4. Shift Work – See Clause 34 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Agreement<br />

5. Ambulance Duty Allowance<br />

5.1 The following conditions will apply to an Employee required to undertake duty on aerial or<br />

road ambulances.<br />

5.2 Where an Employee is travelling with a patient or assisting a medical <strong>of</strong>ficer with a patient,<br />

all ordinary time spent in travelling will be regarded as time on duty <strong>and</strong> paid at ordinary<br />

rates. For any time <strong>of</strong> duty spent in such travel in excess <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> rostered hours <strong>of</strong> duty on any<br />

day or on a rostered day <strong>of</strong>f, payment will be made at overtime rates in accordance with this<br />

Agreement.<br />

5.3 Where an Employee is travelling to a patient or having transported a patient is returning to<br />

headquarters, all ordinary time spent in travelling will be regarded as time on duty <strong>and</strong> paid<br />

at ordinary rates. For any time <strong>of</strong> travel in excess <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> rostered hours <strong>of</strong> duty on any day<br />

payment will be made at <strong>the</strong> rate <strong>of</strong> single time on days o<strong>the</strong>r than Sundays <strong>and</strong> <strong>public</strong><br />

holidays, <strong>and</strong> at time <strong>and</strong> one half rates on Sundays <strong>and</strong> <strong>public</strong> holidays, up to a maximum <strong>of</strong><br />

five hours.<br />

5.4 Where such travel is undertaken on a rostered day <strong>of</strong>f, payment will be made at <strong>the</strong> rate <strong>of</strong><br />

single time on days o<strong>the</strong>r than Sundays <strong>and</strong> <strong>public</strong> holidays <strong>and</strong> at time <strong>and</strong> one half rates on<br />

Sundays <strong>and</strong> <strong>public</strong> holidays, for <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> travel corresponding to normal hours <strong>of</strong> duty<br />

subject to a maximum <strong>of</strong> eight hours on any day <strong>and</strong> for <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> travel outside normal<br />

hours <strong>of</strong> duty subject to a maximum <strong>of</strong> five hours on any day.<br />

5.5 For <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> this subclause day means midnight to midnight.<br />
