payment <strong>of</strong> overtime will be paid an additional one day’s pay, in lieu <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> provisions <strong>of</strong><br />

paragraph 33.7(b).<br />

Rest Relief in conjunction with Overtime<br />

33.15 Employees who work so much overtime between <strong>the</strong> termination <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir ordinary duty on<br />

one day <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> commencement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir ordinary duty on <strong>the</strong> next day so that <strong>the</strong>y have<br />

not had at least nine consecutive hours <strong>of</strong>f duty between those times, will, subject to this<br />

clause, be released after completion <strong>of</strong> such overtime until <strong>the</strong>y have had nine consecutive<br />

hours <strong>of</strong>f duty without loss <strong>of</strong> pay for ordinary working time occurring during such absences<br />

including reasonable travelling time to cover time taken in travelling from <strong>and</strong> to <strong>the</strong>ir places<br />

<strong>of</strong> employment.<br />

33.16 Provided that if such Employees are required by <strong>the</strong> Department to resume or continue<br />

work without having had nine consecutive hours <strong>of</strong>f duty including reasonable travelling<br />

time, <strong>the</strong>y will be paid at double rate until <strong>the</strong>y are released from duty for that period <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong>y will be entitled to be absent until <strong>the</strong>y have had nine consecutive hours <strong>of</strong>f duty<br />

including reasonable travelling time, without loss <strong>of</strong> pay for ordinary time occurring during<br />

that absence.<br />

33.17 The provisions <strong>of</strong> clause 33.2 <strong>of</strong> this Agreement will not apply to overtime worked in <strong>the</strong><br />

circumstances covered by clause 4, Emergency duty, <strong>of</strong> Schedule 2 <strong>of</strong> this Agreement, unless<br />

<strong>the</strong> actual time worked is at least three hours on each call.<br />

34. Shift Penalties<br />

34.1 The shift work provisions <strong>of</strong> this Agreement will not apply to Nurse 6 <strong>and</strong> above.<br />

34.2 The following shift penalty arrangements will apply to an Employee employed under this<br />

Agreement:<br />

(a)<br />

Afternoon<br />

a penalty rate <strong>of</strong> 15% will be paid for ordinary time duty shifts between midnight<br />

Sunday <strong>and</strong> midnight Friday on a shift commencing at or after 12 noon <strong>and</strong> ceasing after<br />

6.00 p.m.<br />

(b)<br />

Night<br />

a penalty rate <strong>of</strong> 22.5% will be paid to an Employee whose ordinary time duty shift<br />

commences between <strong>the</strong> hours <strong>of</strong> 6 pm on one day <strong>and</strong> 1 am <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> following day;<br />

(c)<br />
