(c)<br />
Meal allowance is also payable to an Employee who is required:<br />
i. after <strong>the</strong> completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir ordinary hours <strong>of</strong> duty for <strong>the</strong> day, without a<br />
break for a meal, to perform extra duties up to <strong>the</strong> completion <strong>of</strong> or beyond<br />
<strong>the</strong> next meal period occurring after <strong>the</strong> completion <strong>of</strong> that ordinary duty; or<br />
ii.<br />
iii.<br />
iv.<br />
after <strong>the</strong> completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir ordinary hours <strong>of</strong> duty for <strong>the</strong> day, to perform<br />
duty after a break for a meal which occurs after that completion <strong>and</strong> is not<br />
entitled to payment for that break; or<br />
to perform duty before <strong>the</strong> commencement <strong>of</strong> ordinary hours <strong>of</strong> duty, who<br />
breaks for a meal <strong>and</strong> is not entitled to payment for that break; or<br />
to perform duty on a Saturday, Sunday, <strong>public</strong> holiday or rostered day <strong>of</strong>f, in<br />
addition to <strong>the</strong>ir normal weekly hours <strong>of</strong> duty, extending beyond a meal<br />
break <strong>and</strong> is not entitled to payment for that break.<br />
(d)<br />
The amount <strong>of</strong> meal allowance payable under clause (a) will be adjusted to equal <strong>the</strong><br />
maximum amount required to obtain a three course meal where such a meal is<br />
obtainable by <strong>the</strong> Employee at a canteen, cafeteria or dining room conducted,<br />
controlled or assisted by <strong>the</strong> employer.<br />
3.3 Higher Duties Allowance<br />
(a)<br />
Where an Employee has been directed to temporarily perform duties at a higher<br />
classification level, <strong>the</strong> following provisions apply:<br />
i. An Employee directed to perform all or part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> duties <strong>of</strong> a higher<br />
classification will be paid an allowance equal to <strong>the</strong> difference between <strong>the</strong><br />
Employee’s own salary <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> salary <strong>the</strong> Employee would receive if<br />
promoted to <strong>the</strong> higher classification, or an alternative amount determined<br />
<strong>and</strong> authorised as a percentage <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> duties performed where partial<br />
performance is directed.<br />
ii. An Employee under 21 years <strong>of</strong> age who is paid an age rate <strong>and</strong> is directed to<br />
perform all or part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> duties <strong>of</strong> a higher classification will be paid an<br />
allowance equal to <strong>the</strong> difference between <strong>the</strong> Employee’s own age rate <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> age rate <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> higher classification (where applicable) or <strong>the</strong> salary <strong>the</strong><br />
Employee would receive if promoted to <strong>the</strong> higher classification.<br />
