Stakes: The size of the blinds in the game you’re playing.<br />

Straight: Five cards of mixed suits in sequence.<br />

Street: A round of betting after another card(s) has been dealt.<br />

Suck Out: When someone wins a hand when they were a large<br />

underdog previously in the hand.<br />

Table Selection: Picking the game in which you’re going to<br />

play.<br />

Tight: A player who plays very few hands preflop is considered<br />

a tight player.<br />

Tilt: When a players makes decisions based on something other<br />

than logic. A classic example is when someone is upset for<br />

some reason and as a result is playing badly.<br />

Trips: Three of a kind where you have a hole card that matches<br />

two cards of the same rank on the board.<br />

Undercard: A card lower than another specified card or group<br />

of cards. Example: If the flop was KT3, and a 2 came on the<br />

turn. The 2 is an undercard to the flop.<br />

Underpair: A pocket pair that is lower than any of the cards on<br />

the board. Also a pocket pair lower than an opponent’s pocket<br />

pair.<br />

Upswing: When a player wins a lot of money relative to the big<br />

blind of the game.<br />

Value-bet: Betting when one believes he has the best hand.<br />

Win Rate: A player’s rate of earn.<br />
