<strong>Whops</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Clobber</strong><br />
Jojo was sitting uncomfortably in the cafeteria<br />
surrounded by Rosemary, Nix <strong>and</strong> Debs. Predictably<br />
they were engrossed in discussing Joanna’s recent<br />
encounter with the Gr<strong>and</strong> Dame’s cane. <strong>The</strong>y were<br />
taken by surprise when Lady Vic<strong>to</strong>ria Bromp<strong>to</strong>n<br />
barreled down on their table.<br />
Jojo <strong>and</strong> her chums had become used <strong>to</strong> being<br />
ignored by the more senior inmates <strong>and</strong> they were<br />
not sure what <strong>to</strong> make of Vic<strong>to</strong>ria’s arrival.<br />
Although she was only in the second phase of<br />
her sentence Lady Vix was already a <strong>Woody</strong> legend<br />
<strong>and</strong> was a <strong>to</strong>p lieutenant in Cat Cassidy’s subversive<br />
cult of mega-minxdom. She had a reputation as a<br />
pugnacious, potty-mouthed firebr<strong>and</strong>.<br />
Vix put both h<strong>and</strong>s on the table <strong>and</strong> stared<br />
directly at Jojo.<br />
“Rumor has it you got whopped, that true?”<br />
she asked.<br />
Jojo nodded.<br />
“You howl?” dem<strong>and</strong>ed Vic<strong>to</strong>ria.<br />
Jojo shook her head.<br />
“You sure?” asked Vic<strong>to</strong>ria.<br />
Joanna nodded again. “Jojo doesn’t howl,” she<br />
said emphatically. “Only muffs howl.”<br />
Lady Vix held Jojo’s stare.<br />
“Fawkin’ ‘A’ sister,” she chuckled finally <strong>and</strong><br />
then turned on her heel <strong>and</strong> returned <strong>to</strong> her seat.
