Patsy’s First Time Out<br />
<strong>The</strong> library had an austere atmosphere, lined<br />
with shelves filled with dusty books dating back over<br />
a century <strong>and</strong> a half. <strong>The</strong>re were a few areas<br />
furnished with tables, inhospitable wooden seated<br />
chairs <strong>and</strong> low-wattage side-lamps. It was many<br />
years since the library had been used for its original<br />
purpose.<br />
Patsy s<strong>to</strong>pped three quarters of the way along<br />
the library. Without needing instruction Deborah<br />
continued onwards until she reached a large ornate<br />
fireplace that dominated the far wall. She turned<br />
around <strong>and</strong> faced Patsy. Without being asked she<br />
reached up <strong>and</strong> placed her h<strong>and</strong>s on her head.<br />
“You failed <strong>to</strong> turn up for weeding duty,” said<br />
Patsy slowly.<br />
Debs gaped at the House Captain. “Weeding<br />
duty? I wasn’t on the schedule for weeding <strong>to</strong>day,”<br />
she exclaimed. “I had a clear roster. I checked this<br />
morning.”<br />
“You were first reserve,” said Patsy, sounding<br />
