Prepare for a Flogging<br />
<strong>The</strong> next morning, Ms Law<strong>to</strong>n's entrance <strong>to</strong> the<br />
assembly hall was quite formidable. <strong>The</strong> doors<br />
crashed closed behind her <strong>and</strong> she mounted the steps<br />
<strong>to</strong> the stage two at a time. No sooner had the<br />
assembled inmates begun <strong>to</strong> rise <strong>to</strong> their feet than<br />
they were curtly comm<strong>and</strong>ed <strong>to</strong> sit down. <strong>The</strong> Gr<strong>and</strong><br />
Dame banged her h<strong>and</strong> down on the table.<br />
"I want <strong>to</strong> know who was responsible for the<br />
despicable activities in the science block last night,"<br />
she roared, "I don't care how long it takes but I will<br />
find out. Until the culprit comes forward all privileges<br />
<strong>and</strong> recreational activities are canceled for the whole<br />
community."<br />
Her face was red with rage <strong>and</strong> she was visibly<br />
shaking as she faced the assembled inmates.<br />
From <strong>to</strong>wards the back of the hall a chair<br />
scraped on the wooden floor <strong>and</strong> the sound of<br />
footsteps caused every head in the hall <strong>to</strong> turn.<br />
Calmly Deborah approached the stage. While<br />
the inmates gaped Deborah faced the Gr<strong>and</strong> Dame.
