The optimized hover case was then used as the baseline problem to create the multiple cases for the gain schedule. 3.3 Gain Scheduling of the SH-2G Batch Mode provides the user with the ability to quickly produce gain schedules for aircraft. This capability will be demonstrated in three sections. First, it will be shown how Batch Mode can easily setup and create multiple cases. Second, the optimization of the multiple cases will be shown. Finally, the capability to create gain schedule plots will be demonstrated, the cases ranging in velocity from hover to 100kts. 3.3.1 Setup of Problem The setup of the batch problem started with the optimized baseline case. The end design parameters were saved as the default for the case, their frozen states set such that 103
only the four lateral gains were active. Thus, each case to be created in the batch problem will start with these values. A new directory was created for the batch problem, and the baseline case was copied to that directory. Batch Mode was started, selecting the baseline problem in the new directory. The Batch Mode GUI appeared as shown below. The single case shown is the baseline problem, with the default values set. Sched” (Velocity Schedule) for later reference. Also for reference, the name of the case was changed from the default of “sh2glat1” to “Hover”. 104
