the casual observer is that since the window is so large for these few parameters, that they
should be incorporated with other parameters from different windows. However, all
other windows have a variable number of parameters, which with a larger number of
parameters would require as much space as possible. Adding the general parameters
would only take away from that space. Thus, while the design might not be ideal for all
windows, it is the best compromise considering the limitations.

The second Setup Mode window developed was the Gain Schedule Parameter
window, shown in Figure 25. In this window, the user may define constants to be used
elsewhere in the Batch Mode GUI. These constants are much like the name column in
the Case Number Area, in that they do not directly affect any CONDUIT setting. Rather,
they are accessed through other areas of the Batch GUI. Specifically, they can be used as
