used to determine the order the cases are optimized. This number can be either entered
by hand, or set using the Order Cases button, to be explained later. If the user happens to
use the same number for two separate cases, Batch Mode will automatically determine
the order of the two cases.
To the right of the Run Order column is the Phase Column. While a case is
running, the corresponding cell in this column shows the current phase of the
optimization. After the optimization of a case has finished, this column shows the final
phase reached. If a stop condition was specified in Setup Mode, such as Phase 2, Phase
3, or dp=0, this number will appear in the cell as well. The value of the phase cell will be
separated by the stop condition by a “/”, as shown in Figure 27.
The final feature of the phase column is that it changes color based on the phase
value. Just like a stoplight, Phase 1 is colored red, Phase 2 is colored yellow, and Phase 3
is colored green. By coloring the cells, the user can quickly scan a large number of cases
to determine the results of a Batch optimization.
The next column to the right is the Iteration Number column. Just as the phase
column displays the current or final phase value, so does the Iteration Number column
display the current or final iteration for each case. Additionally, if a number of iterations
to run was specified in Setup Mode, it will appear to the right of a “/” in each cell, giving
an indication as to how many more iterations are to be run.
The last column in the Display Area shows the Optimization Result Message.
When a CONDUIT optimization stops, a message is displayed showing the reason for the
end of the optimization. The result messages may indicate anything from a successful
optimization, to a completion of a number of iterations, to a case in which CONDUIT can
