Figure 47 - Sensitivity Log
In this automated sensitivity analysis, the optimization stopped in Phase 3 when
the design parameters could not be changed in the last 3 iterations. Because the
optimization was in Phase 3, the specs critical to that phase, namely the two Summed
Objective specs, were used. All four design parameters were checked for insensitivity,
and three parameters were frozen. Since only one design parameter remained, a check
for correlated parameters was not performed. The end of the log indicates that one design
parameter remains active, and that the optimization will continue.
Upon completion, the sensitivity automation would exit to the run algorithm,
continuing the optimization of the current case with the same stop condition. The cycle
of running a sensitivity analysis and an optimization would continue until it is determined
that satisfactory results have been obtained, the sensitivity automation has frozen all
design parameters, or the sensitivity analysis was unable to freeze any design parameters.
Run Mode would then move on to the next case.
In conclusion, the sensitivity automation performs the same process that would be
performed by a user analyzing a CONDUIT problem. It provides the means of
automatically identifying and freezing insensitive and correlated parameters. By adding
