property. The priests were envious of our influence in
developing Mayapur as the birthplace of Chaitanya
rather than Navadwip where they claim he was born.
Bhaktivedanta was joined by Sridhar Swami,
his god-brother, as guest of honor. Sridhar was a
much respected Vaishnav scholar and devotee. He
avoided many of the scandals that shook the Gaudiya
Math and established his own branch of the sect.
I went to Vrindaban with Swamiji and a group
of his disciples and toured the surrounding area of
Braj by bus. One of the highlights was bathing in the
Yamuna River with Swamiji. It was a wonderful tour
