Each Member which ratifies this Convention shall be free to decidethe manner in which provision shall be made for holidays with pay inagriculture.2. Such provision may be made, where appropriate, by means ofcollective agreement or by entrusting the regulation of holidays with pay inagriculture to special bodies.Article 3The required minimum period of continuous service <strong>and</strong> the minimumduration of the annual holiday with pay shall be determined by nationallaws or regulations, collective agreement, or arbitration award, or byspecial bodies entrusted with the regulation of holidays with pay inagriculture, or in any other manner approved by the competent authority.Other ILOst<strong>and</strong>ardsThere are a number of ILO Conventions dealing with hours of work. Forexample: C 14 Weekly Rest (Industry) Convention, 1921 C 47 Forty-Hour Week Convention, 1935 C 171 Night Work Convention, 1990 C 132 Holidays with Pay Convention (Revised), 1970Even though some of them exclude agriculture, they can be useful for“borrowing” st<strong>and</strong>ards to use for bargaining. Trade union actionCollectivebargainingYour union can use collective bargaining to overcome any limitations inyour country’s health <strong>and</strong> safety legislation.
