When deciding how to set up your course, consider factorssuch as the time you have available, the time that participants can spendattending the course, the specific needs of the participants.You need to think about: careful selection of the target group with agreed criteria giving advance notice to the participants <strong>and</strong> employers the programme <strong>and</strong> timetable preparing h<strong>and</strong>outs <strong>and</strong> activities arranging the venue, stationery, snacks, <strong>and</strong> resource persons ifrequired the finances for the course evaluation <strong>and</strong> follow upA number of the above tasks can be shared in your union, so that it doesnot all fall upon the educator. You will also need to think about what mightgo wrong <strong>and</strong> what you will do. For example: the finances do not arrive in time the venue has to be changed a key resource person is no longer available the printing machine stops working the electricity might failMake sure that participants know in advance how much time they have inorder to try to accomplish the aims for an exercise or discussion. Agreeclear time limits for: activities discussions course meetings breaks for food <strong>and</strong> drinksWherever the course is taking place, the aim should be to maximisecontact <strong>and</strong> communication between the participants.
