National laws andregulations or the competentauthority shall prescribe thatmachinery, equipment,including personal protectiveequipment, appliances andhand tools used inagriculture comply withnational or other recognisedsafety and health standardsand be appropriatelyinstalled, maintained andsafeguarded.2. The competentauthority shall takemeasures to ensure thatmanufacturers, importersand suppliers comply withthe standards referred to inparagraph 1 and provideadequate and appropriateinformation, includinghazard warning signs, in theofficial language orlanguages of the usercountry, to the users and,on request, to thecompetent authority.3.
