Few articles are likely to draw on more than a small part of the theoreticaltoolkit outlined above. But we shall encourage exploratory and innovative work, whichdraws on different disciplines, and which addresses core issues in the emerging researchagenda. The existence of such a research agenda does not mean that everyone will agree.There will continue to be fierce arguments and debates among the protagonists of a newpolitical economy, as well as with those who are not persuaded that the world haschanged or that our ways of understanding it need amending. The New Review of Applied Expert Systems reports uponsuccessful expert systems in a way that will enable those working in other areas, and inother countries, to attempt similar approaches and techniques in response to their ownproblems. Submissions are invited from practitioners and developers in all fields, andespecially from those working in areas where few if any expert systems have beencreated, thereby offering guidance to individuals, firms and organizations who previouslyhave not considered this technology, or who have experienced problems with it in thepast.
