CalibrationsDetermining Line-of-sight error and V-IndexThe calibration contains the determination of thefollowing instrument errors:• Hz-collimation• V-index (simultaneously electronic level)For determining the Hz-collimation or the V-index itis necessary to measure in both telescope positions.The procedure can be started in any telescope position.The user is guided clearly through the procedure. Awrong determination of instrument error is thus eliminated.The instruments are adjusted in the factory prior toshipping.Instrument errors can change with time and temperature.These errors should be determined beforethe instrument is used for the first time, before precisionsurveys, after long periods of transport, beforeand after long periods of work, and if the temperaturechanges by more than 10°C (18°F).Before determining the instrumenterrors, level-up the instrument using theelectronic bubble.
