Laser classificationGeneralThe following directions (in accordance with thestate of the art - international standard IEC 60825-1(2007-03) and IEC TR 60825-14 (2004-02)) provideinstruction and training information to the personresponsible for the product and the person whoactually uses the equipment, to anticipate and avoidoperational hazards.The person responsible for the product must ensurethat all users understand these directions andadhere to them.Products classified as laser class 1, class 2andclass 3R do not require:• laser safety officer involvement,• protective clothes and eye wear,• special warning signs in the laser workingareaif used and operated as defined in this user manualdue to the low eye hazard level.Products classified as laser class 2 or class3Rmay cause dazzle, flashblindness and afterimages,particularly under low ambient light conditions.Distancer, Measurements with Reflectors (IRmode)The EDM module built into this product produces avisible laser beam which emerges from the telescopeobjective.The laser product described in this section is classifiedas laser class 1 in accordance with:• IEC 60825-1 (2007-03): "Safety of laserproducts"Class 1 laser products are safe under reasonablyforeseeable conditions of operation and are notharmful to the eyes provided that the products areused and maintained in accordance with this usermanual.Safety Directions129TPS400-5.0.1en
