Chapter 1.FLIGHT RULES1.1 VISUAL FLIGHT RULES (VFR)(A2 – Chapter 4)1.1.1 Special application1.1.1.1 VFR flights to be operated in specified portions of terminal control areas (TMAs) of selected aerodromesserving international flights shall:a) have two-way radio communications;b) obtain clearance from the appropriate ATC unit; andc) report positions, as required.Note.— The phrase “specified portions of terminal control areas” is int<strong>en</strong>ded to signify at least thoseportions of the TMA used by international IFR flights in association with approach, holding, departure and noiseabatem<strong>en</strong>t procedures.1.2 INSTRUMENT FLIGHT RULES (IFR)(A2 – Chapters 2 and 5)Note.— Annex 2, 2.2, permits a flight to operate using either instrum<strong>en</strong>t flight rules or visual flight ruleswh<strong>en</strong> operated in visual meteorological conditions subject to the limitations listed in Chapter 4 of the Annex.
