<strong>Regional</strong> Supplem<strong>en</strong>tary <strong>Procedures</strong> MID/ASIA 4-34.1.1.5.2 Composite(A11 – Chapter 3)Area of applicability4.1.1.5.2.1 For aircraft operating at or above FL 290 within the flexible Pacific Organized Track Systems (PACOTS),North Pacific (NOPAC) route system betwe<strong>en</strong> the United States and Japan and the route system betwe<strong>en</strong> Hawaii andthe west coast of the United States, within the Fukuoka, Oakland Oceanic and Anchorage Oceanic FIRs, compositeseparation <strong>cons</strong>isting of a combination of at least 93 km (50 NM) lateral and 300 m (1 000 ft) vertical separation may beapplied.4.1.1.5.3 RNP 5Area of applicability4.1.1.5.3.1 Within the Amman, Baghdad, Bahrain, Beirut, Cairo, Damascus, Jeddah, Kabul, Kuwait, Muscat, Sana’a,Tehran, Tel Aviv and Emirates FIRs, only RNAV-equipped aircraft having a navigation accuracy meeting RNP 5 mayplan for operations under IFR on those ATS routes and within those level bands which have be<strong>en</strong> specified as requiringRNP 5 in the relevant State AIP or NOTAM.Means of compliance(P-ATM – Chapter 5)4.1.1.5.3.2 Conformance to the navigation requirem<strong>en</strong>t shall be verified by the State of Registry or the State of theOperator, as appropriate.Note.— Guidance material concerning navigation accuracy requirem<strong>en</strong>ts is contained in the PerformancebasedNavigation Manual (Doc 9613), Volume II.4.1.1.5.3.3 Aircraft operating under IFR on designated RNP 5 routes shall be equipped with, as a minimum, RNAVequipm<strong>en</strong>t meeting the following requirem<strong>en</strong>ts:a) a system use accuracy equal to, or better than, 4.6 km (2.5 NM) for one standard deviation, with a95 per c<strong>en</strong>t containm<strong>en</strong>t value of ±9.26 km (±5 NM), thereby meeting the accuracy requirem<strong>en</strong>ts forRNP 5; andb) an average continuity of service of 99.99 per c<strong>en</strong>t of flight time.4.1.1.5.3.4 Until such time as VHF omnidirectional radio range (VOR) or distance-measuring equipm<strong>en</strong>t (DME)facilities cease to be available, the carriage of a single RNAV system having a navigation accuracy meeting RNP 5 butnot meeting the above continuity of service requirem<strong>en</strong>ts may be approved for RNAV operations if the aircraft is alsocarrying VOR and DME equipm<strong>en</strong>t.4.1.1.5.3.5 The cross-track distances required to achieve a giv<strong>en</strong> level of containm<strong>en</strong>t for RNP 5 routes shall be asspecified in the following table:30/11/07
