In fact, the U.S. Department <strong>of</strong>Labor predicts the need for medical and health services managerswill grow 16 percent between 2006 and 2016. The Master<strong>of</strong> Science (MS) in health care administration is designed togive midcareer pr<strong>of</strong>essionals the specialized skills they need t<strong>of</strong>ill those positions. It is also an appropriate program for thosewho have an undergraduate degree in health care but have notworked in the field. The curriculum covers financial decisionmaking, research methods, information technology, long-termcare, public health, legal issues, and more. The goal <strong>of</strong> theprogram is for students to garner a deeper understanding <strong>of</strong> thechallenges the health care industry faces and apply their extensiveknowledge <strong>of</strong> both the industry and management techniquesto overcome those challenges.Academic or Pr<strong>of</strong>essional PreparationThe MS in health care administration is designed for studentswith educational and/or pr<strong>of</strong>essional work experience in thehealth care field.
