NONDEGREE TEACHEREDUCATION PROGRAMTEACHER EDUCATION READING STRAND:READING COURSES IN ELEMENTARYAND SECONDARY EDUCATIONProgram DescriptionThe reading courses in elementary education (four courses) andsecondary education (two courses) are designed for teachers seekingto meet <strong>Maryland</strong> certification and recertification requirements.They provide a thorough foundation in the theories,processes, and acquisition <strong>of</strong> reading needed for the teaching<strong>of</strong> reading to elementary and secondary students.
