Krupskaya. 3 pages. No date, no place. [Entitled
[transl.]: "More attention to the occupation with
children's spare time after school"].
Nadezhda Konstantinovna "Nadya" Krupskaya
(1869­1939) was a Russian Bolshevik revolutionary
and married to Lenin (1870­1924). Her entire life
she was deeply interested in children's education
and possibilities. The manuscript is a preface for a
review on children's education and shows Krupskaya's
strong commitment to the work concerning children's
education policy and youth employment. In the
manuscript Krupskaya underlines the need to focus
on children's leisure time and activities after school.
Her chief aim with this publication was to influence
the teachers and the school system in general.

Dmitri Mendeleev - Autograph postcard

Dated Stockholm 30.11.1905. Text on both sides.
The Russian chemist and inventor Dmitri Ivanovich
Mendeleev (1834­1907) is credited as being the
creator of the first version of the periodic table of
elements. In 1905, Mendeleev was elected a member
of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and
this postcard was written under his stay in Stockholm
­ probably on the occasion of his prize­giving.
Mendeleev writes to his family telling them that he is
going to the theatre to see "Carmen" and then he is
going to Germany. He has signed the postcard "D".
