Nadezhda Konstantinovna "Nadya" Krupskaya<br />
(18691939) was a Russian Bolshevik revolutionary<br />
and married to Lenin (18701924). Her entire life<br />
she was deeply interested in children's education<br />
and possibilities. The manuscript is a preface for a<br />
review on children's education and shows Krupskaya's<br />
strong commitment to the work concerning children's<br />
education policy and youth employment. In the<br />
manuscript Krupskaya underlines the need to focus<br />
on children's leisure time and activities after school.<br />
Her chief aim with this publication was to influence<br />
the teachers and the school system in general.<br />

Dmitri Mendeleev - Autograph postcard<br />

The Russian chemist and inventor Dmitri Ivanovich<br />
Mendeleev (18341907) is credited as being the<br />
creator of the first version of the periodic table of<br />
elements. In 1905, Mendeleev was elected a member<br />
of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and<br />
this postcard was written under his stay in Stockholm<br />
probably on the occasion of his prizegiving.<br />
Mendeleev writes to his family telling them that he is<br />
going to the theatre to see "Carmen" and then he is<br />
going to Germany. He has signed the postcard "D".<br />
