The CANopen protocol enables fast and flexibleconnection to the bus.Controllers with more than one CAN interface can be used as gateway. Twodifferent CAN networks can be easily connected to each other. They enabledirect processing of for example control and diagnostic data of diesel engineswith SAE J 1939 protocol. As an alternative the second CAN interfacecan also be used for freely definable CAN messages (CAN layer 2).
