Examples in this direction are: the next generation of HUD<br />

by Pioneeer [5], eyeSight by UNIVO [6], <strong>and</strong> eViacam [7].<br />

UI FOR SOCIAL SERVICES IN THE CAR DOMAIN<br />

Between (B3) <strong>and</strong> (B4) there is room to investigate for how<br />

to implement the key elements of social service<br />

(community, conversations, identity) [6] within the<br />

automotive domain. As an example, we can design <strong>and</strong><br />

implement “conversations” within a community of a social<br />

service thinking about two phases [8]: the listening phase<br />

<strong>and</strong> the speaking phase.<br />

In the speaking phase, social services allow users to display<br />

personalized content, their social context <strong>and</strong> their activity:<br />

this can be done sharing content, updating a status, using<br />

the ‘Like’ button, commenting others’ content, etc.<br />

Translating these activities into natural, unobtrusive actions<br />

<strong>and</strong> gestures within the in-car environment <strong>and</strong> domain can<br />

be a hard challenge, also considering the design constrains<br />

in the automotive industry.<br />
