Configuring <strong>OpenEdge</strong> Web Services<br />

You can also create a new Web Services Adapter instance, view its status, or delete an instance<br />

you no longer need.<br />

Each of these tasks is described in the following sections.<br />

Setting Web Services Adapter instance properties<br />

You can set location, proxy server setting, WSDL, logging setting, security, <strong>and</strong> advanced<br />

features properties for a Web Services Adapter instance.<br />

To set Web Services Adapter instance properties:<br />

1. Click Resources in the management console menu bar. The main resource types appear in<br />

the list frame.<br />

2. In the list frame, exp<strong>and</strong> the <strong>OpenEdge</strong> category.<br />

3. Exp<strong>and</strong> the Web Services Adapter category, <strong>and</strong> select an instance. The Details page for<br />

that instance appears in the detail frame.<br />

4. If your Web server requires that you log in, click Login in the Comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> control<br />

section of the page. Type your user name <strong>and</strong> your password, <strong>and</strong> then click Submit.<br />

5. Click <strong>Configuration</strong>.<br />

From this page, you can:<br />

• View a read-only display of the Web Services Adapter properties as described in<br />

Table 6–1 through Table 6–6. All of these tables follow this procedure.<br />

• Click Edit to modify the properties. For details, see the “Editing a Web Services<br />

Adapter instance configuration” section on page 6–16.<br />

Location properties<br />

You set the properties, shown in Table 6–1, in this category when you first create the WSA<br />

instance. For more information see the “Creating a new Web Services Adapter instance” section<br />

on page 6–5.<br />

You cannot change the location properties. Instead, you must delete <strong>and</strong> then recreate the WSA<br />

instance with the new values. For more information, see the “Deleting a Web Services Adapter<br />

instance” section on page 6–24.
