Configuring <strong>OpenEdge</strong> Databases<br />

4. Click the configuration..defaultconfiguration. The Database<br />

<strong>Configuration</strong> page appears, with the default configuration properties organized into the<br />

categories described in Table 2–2 through Table 2–10.<br />

5. Click Edit <strong>and</strong> make the modifications.<br />

6. Click Save.<br />

Creating a database configuration<br />

<strong>OpenEdge</strong> <strong>Management</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>OpenEdge</strong> <strong>Explorer</strong> provide a predefined default database<br />

configuration; however, you can create a new configuration by modifying the default settings.<br />

To create a database configuration:<br />

1. Click Resources in the management console menu bar. The main resource types appear in<br />

the list frame.<br />

2. In the list frame, browse to <strong>and</strong> click the desired database. The Database Details page for<br />

the database appears in the detail frame.<br />

3. In the Comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> control section of the page, click <strong>Configuration</strong>. The Database<br />

<strong>Configuration</strong> page appears.<br />

4. Click configuration..defaultconfiguration. The Database<br />

<strong>Configuration</strong> page appears <strong>and</strong> displays the default configuration properties.<br />

5. Click Create.<br />

6. Type a new configuration group name in the field provided, <strong>and</strong> click Save. The Database<br />

<strong>Configuration</strong> page appears.<br />

7. Click Edit to set the properties of the new database configuration. (Refer to Table 2–2<br />

through Table 2–10 for a description of each property.)<br />

8. When you finish, click Save.<br />

To make this new configuration the default, you must select it as the default on the Database<br />

<strong>Configuration</strong> page.<br />

To assign the new configuration to a database, see the “Assigning a different default database<br />

configuration” section on page 2–19.
