Configuring an Oracle DataServer broker<br />

You can view or modify the following default configuration properties of an Oracle DataServer<br />

broker from <strong>OpenEdge</strong> <strong>Management</strong> or <strong>OpenEdge</strong> <strong>Explorer</strong>:<br />

• Broker<br />

• Server<br />

• Environment variables<br />

You can also create a new Oracle DataServer broker, view a broker’s status, delete a broker you<br />

no longer need, or view the broker’s log files.<br />

Each of these tasks is described in the following sections.<br />

Viewing or modifying Oracle DataServer broker properties<br />

You can view or modify Oracle DataServer broker properties in the following categories:<br />

general properties, owner information, controlling NameServer information, Data Service,<br />

setting logging properties, <strong>and</strong> advanced features.<br />

To view or modify broker properties for an Oracle broker:<br />

1. Click Resources in the management console menu bar. The main resource types appear in<br />

the list frame.<br />

2. In the list frame, browse to <strong>and</strong> click the desired broker instance. The Details page for the<br />

instance appears in the detail frame.<br />

3. In the Comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> control section of the page, click <strong>Configuration</strong>. The Oracle<br />

DataServer <strong>Configuration</strong> page appears.<br />

From this page, you can:<br />

• View a read-only display of the Oracle broker properties as described in Table 3–5.<br />

• Click Edit to modify the broker properties. For details, see the “Editing an Oracle<br />

DataServer broker configuration” section on page 3–22.<br />

General<br />

Property Description<br />

Working directory Your general working directory. The default<br />

value is @{WorkPath}.<br />

Operating mode For DataServer brokers, the operating mode is<br />

state-aware. The default value is state-aware.<br />

Port number The type of the TCP/IP listening port that the<br />

DataServer broker uses. The default value is<br />

3050.
