Configuring <strong>OpenEdge</strong> Databases<br />

Creating a database server group<br />

You can create a new database server group from <strong>OpenEdge</strong> <strong>Management</strong> or <strong>OpenEdge</strong><br />

<strong>Explorer</strong>.<br />

To create a database server group:<br />

1. Click Resources in the <strong>OpenEdge</strong> <strong>Explorer</strong> console menu bar. The main resource types<br />

appear in the list frame.<br />

2. In the list frame, browse to <strong>and</strong> click the desired database. The Database Details page for<br />

the database appears in the detail frame.<br />

3. In the Comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> control section of the page, click <strong>Configuration</strong>. The Database<br />

<strong>Configuration</strong> page appears.<br />

4. Click the servergroup..defaultconfiguration.defaultservergroup you<br />

want to edit. The Database <strong>Configuration</strong> page for the server group appears.<br />

5. Click Create.<br />

6. Type a new server group name in the field provided, <strong>and</strong> click Save. The Database<br />

<strong>Configuration</strong> page appears.<br />

You can click Edit to set the properties of the new database server group. (For details about the<br />

properties in each category, refer to Table 2–11 <strong>and</strong> Table 2–12.) When you finish, click Save.
