Configuring <strong>OpenEdge</strong> Web Services<br />

Editing a Web Services Adapter instance configuration<br />

You can edit the configuration properties of a Web Services Adapter (WSA) instance from the<br />

management console.<br />

To edit Web Services Adapter properties:<br />

1. Click Resources in the management console menu bar. The main resource types appear in<br />

the list frame.<br />

2. In the list frame, exp<strong>and</strong> the <strong>OpenEdge</strong> category.<br />

3. Exp<strong>and</strong> the Web Services Adapter category, <strong>and</strong> select a Web Service Adapter instance.<br />

The Details page for that instance appears in the detail frame.<br />

4. In the Comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> control section of the page, click <strong>Configuration</strong>. The Web<br />

Services Adapter <strong>Configuration</strong> page opens.<br />

5. Click Edit, <strong>and</strong> make the changes you want to the properties. (For details about the<br />

properties, see Table 6–1 through Table 6–6.)<br />

6. Click Save. Any changes you make are also reflected in the ubroker.properties file.<br />

You can also make run-time changes in the management console to the values of the following<br />

WSA properties:<br />

• debugClients — Controls whether to dump HTTP <strong>and</strong> SOAP protocol message<br />

information to the WSA log file, <strong>and</strong> specifies the clients (if any) whose SOAP messages<br />

are to be dumped<br />

• enableWsdl — Controls the WSA's ability to respond to inquiries about WSDL<br />

documents for any of the Web service applications it hosts<br />

• enableWsdlListings — Controls the WSA's ability to respond to a request for a list of<br />

WSDL documents it has available<br />

• loggingLevel — Specifies the amount of information to be written to the broker log<br />

• logMsgThreshold — Controls the amount of SOAP message information that can be<br />

written to the WSA log file<br />

• webAppEnabled — Controls the WSA's ability to accept <strong>and</strong> process SOAP requests to<br />

any of its hosted Web service applications<br />

These changes last only for the duration of the current Java servlet engine (JSE) session. To<br />

make these changes permanent across sessions, you must make the changes in the property<br />

settings.
