(1) The person who unlawfully impedes another person in the exercise <strong>of</strong> his right to association or assembly withviolence or menace, commits a felony, and shall be punishable with imprisonment <strong>of</strong> up to three years.(2)(1) Any person who attempts to prevent a public <strong>of</strong>ficial or a foreign public <strong>of</strong>ficial in his lawful proceedings byforce or by threat <strong>of</strong> force, or takes certain action, or assaults him during or because <strong>of</strong> his proceedings, is guilty <strong>of</strong> afelony punishable by imprisonment not to exceed three years.(2) The punishment shall be imprisonment <strong>of</strong> up to five years, if the violence against an <strong>of</strong>ficial person is committedin a group or in an armed manner.(3) The organizer or head <strong>of</strong> the group defined in subsection (2) shall be punishable with imprisonment from twoyears to eight years.(4) The person who participates in a group directed at the perpetration <strong>of</strong> violence against an <strong>of</strong>ficial person, commitsa misdemeanour and shall be punishable with imprisonment <strong>of</strong> up to two years, while the organizer and the head <strong>of</strong> thegroup shall be punishable for a felony with imprisonment <strong>of</strong> up to three years.(5) The person who assaults a public <strong>of</strong>ficial or a foreign public <strong>of</strong>ficial because <strong>of</strong> his proceedings, shall be punishedaccording to Subsections (1)-(4), even if the assaulted person is no longer a public <strong>of</strong>ficial or foreign public <strong>of</strong>ficial atthe time the criminal act is committed.(6) A participant in the group shall not be punishable on the basis <strong>of</strong> subsection (4), if he leaves the group voluntarilyor upon the invitation <strong>of</strong> an authority.The provisions set forth in Section 229 shall be applied for punishment in respect <strong>of</strong> a person who commits the actdefined therein against a person performing public duties.The person shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions <strong>of</strong> Section 229, who perpetrates the act definedthere against a person supporting or defending a person fulfilling an <strong>of</strong>ficial or public duty.
