Event Management SystemIntroductionThe event management system controls video streaming and contactclosure output based on motion detection sensor or contact closure state.In MPX encoder an event is triggered by changing contact closure state(open /close) or motion detection sensors. An event can perform actionsassociated with it such as:• Switching I-frames video stream to full frame video stream• Switching paused video stream to full frames video stream• Switching paused video stream to I-frames video streamEvent can confi gure for each MPEG-4, MJPEG, MPEG-2 and JPEGvideo channel. Additionally event can use to change contact closureoutput state.Configuration1. Select EventSelect event for video channel from the video connection page -->Confi guration/Video/Edit Video Encoding Settings/Connection/Filtering (Normal/Triggered).FilteringDescription0: Pass all frames This is the default option and enables the encoderto pass (stream) all frames (I and P frames). TheEvent Management System will not affect thisstream when pass all frames option is selectedSelecting fi ltering type.1: Pass l frames This enables encoder to send only I-frames,meaning fi ltering all P frames. Event ManagementSystem does not affect this video streamwhen pass I frames function is selected2: Normal: I frames / Triggered: all This option enables the encoder to send onlyI-frames in normal condition (when there is nomotion detected or contact closure event) and incase of a trigger (motion detection or contactclosure), encoder will send all frames meaning Iand P frames3: Normal: Paused / Triggered: I- Frames This option enables the encoder to pause streaming(video is not sending out to the interface) innormal conditions (when there is no motiondetected or contact closure event) and in case ofa trigger (motion detection or contact closure),encoder will resume streaming only I frames4: Normal: Paused / Triggered: All This option enables the encoder to pausestreaming (video is not sent out to the interface)in normal conditions (when there is no motiondetected or contact closure event) and in caseof a trigger (motion detection or contactclosure), encoder will resume streaming andsend all frames (I and P frames)The Filtering items and their descriptions.MPX series video encoders user manual 65
