There was a reported percentage increase in youth run enterprise. The projection at the beginningwas 10 percent. But the projected recorded and increase of 16.31 percentPerformance Indicator Three: No. of youth receiving business counseling and businessdevelopment / advisory servicesIR 3.1: From the last quarter of 2009 until this quarter, an average of 12 youth were counseledout of 20 planned for each period and all were females indicating the project commitment tobusiness support services to the youth who may be having business challenges.IR 3.2: Number and percentage of youth-run small enterprises enhanced during accompanimentphase. This resultalso indicates that 3 of those keeping records, 4 youth with business cards have increase inincome level.Performance Indicator Four: No. of Youth accessing start up finance from or outside thegroupIR 4.1: As a result of majority of youth involvement in industrial attachment, they were not ableto set up a ROSCA fund for members to access or to access any microfinance outside. Initially theproject planned supporting 10 youth for start- up finance.72
Performance Indicator Five: Aggregate value of loan disbursed by the groupIR 5.1: No activity recorded on this aspect. The members were away for two months on internshipand this affected group activities and therefore no fund were accessed by any of the membersPerformance Indicator Six: Percentage increase in income levelIR 6.1: There is an increase of 28 percent increase on income level of youth compared to theprojected 10 percent anticipated at the beginning of the project. Those that were earning $0-50reduced and majority climbed to the three middle and highest income level.Performance Indicator Seven: No of youth sensitized on entrepreneurshipIR 6.1: Number of youth sensitized and awareness createdThis is a new and CNA-informed indicator. It was included after the result of the CNA indicatedthat young people needs information on entrepreneurship. And From the last quarter of 2009 tillpresent. At the end of the project, a total of 385 youth were sensitized of which 240 were femaleand 155 were male through one day seminar session, meetings, conferences e.t.cIR 6.2: Number of products developed and initiatedThe project introduced and initiated the student entrepreneurship foundation project, a one daybusiness seminar just to sensitize youth on the benefits of entrepreneurship.73
