P2.66Tue 611:23-14:00Parameterization of aerosol washout rate by precipitationIrina Piskunova 1 and Vladimir Piskunov 11 VNIIEF, Mira 37, 607190, Sarov, Russian FederationConsidered here is the process of aerosol scavenging by precipitation - the key process for theremoval of radionuclides from the atmosphere and for their further propagation in the ambientatmosphere along with the process of dry deposition. For the most part the calculations usingthe existing transfer models of atmospheric traces [1] are based on the parameterization ofthis process. The calculations of aerosol scavenging by precipitation have been carried out fordifferent precipitation intensities and drops spectra. It is suggested to use [2] parameterizationfor drops spectra in different intensity precipitation. The simple working formula is offeredin terms of calculations to describe the aerosol scavenging processes by precipitation. Goodagreement between the working formula and exact computation should be admitted, even for awide range of precipitation intensity p = [0. 01-300] mm/hour, covering almost all the importantcases. The obtained precipitation intensity p dependence for washout rate is suggested touse for updated estimate, as well as for parameterization of aerosol scavenging by precipitationcomprising 2D-3D complexes to calculate impurity transfer and scavenging in the atmosphere.[1] Loosmore G.
