We have explored the structure of liquid Bi across thetemperature pressure phase space in the region of 0-6 GPa and from the melting to ca. 1200K bymeasuring the X-ray diffraction pattern at high pressure in a Paris-Edinburgh cell and by neutrondiffraction at ambient pressure. We report here on the results and their possible support for theexistence of a liquid-liquid phase transition in Bi.
