P8.18Thu 811:10-14:00Multi-scale micro-relaxation of the quenched dustyplasma liquidLin I, 1 Yen-Shuo Su, 1 and Chong-Wai Io 11 National Central University, No. 300, Jhongda Rd. , 32001, Jhongli City, TaiwanThe transient spatio-temporal evolutions of micro-structure and motion in the relaxation afterquenching a dusty plasma Wigner liquid formed by charged dust particles suspended in a low pressuredischarge is experimentally investigated through direct optical microscopy. The self-similarmulti-scale slowing down relaxation is observed. By accumulating enough thermal fluctuation,the strain energy can be released and cascaded in the network to excite avalanche type collectivemotion associated with structural rearrangement, and finally dissipated to the background neutralgas. This cascaded slow energy release process leads to the increase of dynamical heterogeneityassociated with the formation of a more heterogeneous multi-scale network. It implies an intriguingrelation between energy cascading, dissipation and slowing down dynamics in transient drivendissipative systems.18
