Increase Giving To The Annual Fund (The Chironians)1) Objective: increase annual fund participation to raise revenue by $15,000/year for the nextfive years.2) Rationale: the major objective is to increase the number of alumni and friends participatingin the annual giving program for the School (the Chironians) in order to increase thediscretionary funds available to the Dean. In bringing together our alumni and friends inthis annual effort, the School offers them the opportunity to play an integral role inenhancing and promoting excellence in clinical practice, research and training. A patternof annual giving is most likely to produce major and planned gifts and should, therefore, beintroduced and encouraged at the earliest opportunity, e.g. in the case of the students, whilethey are in the program and immediately upon graduation, encourager them to become partof the Chironians.3) Benefits: In addition to providing scholarship opportunities to students and funding neededcapital improvements; at the Dean’s discretion this money will provide assistance to ournurse managed clinics and faculty research projects.4) Current Status: Presently, the School of Nursing has current addresses for approximately4900 alumni, of which, 4,573 are solicited annually, with a response rate of 33% (1,509participating). Please refer to Diagram 3 for a five year comparison of the School’s annualfund revenues to date.249
