AppendicesAPPENDIX 2Pre-development application design proposal checklistThis Apartment Design Guide encouragespre-development application (pre-DA) discussions.To ensure maximum benefit of pre-DA discussions,consent authorities should appoint an urban designeror architect to provide specialist design advice. Thismay be a member of the Design Review Panel and theirearly input may help to resolve any issues prior to adevelopment application being submitted.Where a council requests panel members to attenda pre-DA discussion, it should be held at a regulartime, and before the scheduled Design Review Panelmeeting.Pre-DA discussions are a critical component of thedevelopment process. Meeting early in the processallows for discussion and agreement of the overalldesign approach. This provides greater efficiency atthe development assessment stage and also savestime and costs associated with revisions or majormodifications.
