Mr John Wilson spent 30 years with the California Energy Commission (CEC), <strong>and</strong> is now the<br />

Program Director for Buildings with non‐pr<strong>of</strong>it organization Energy Foundation in San<br />

Francisco. During his time with the CEC, Mr Wilson’s activities emphasized developing new<br />

building <strong>and</strong> appliance efficiency st<strong>and</strong>ards, oversight <strong>of</strong> the Commission’s US$80 million per<br />

year Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) program, <strong>and</strong> developing long‐term scenarios for<br />

California’s energy system. Mr Wilson was a winner <strong>of</strong> the American Council for an Energy<br />

Efficient Economy’s “Champion <strong>of</strong> Energy Efficiency” Award in 2006 for his work on increasing<br />

the efficiency <strong>of</strong> external power supplies. He was a member <strong>of</strong> the Boards <strong>of</strong> the Consortium for<br />

Energy Efficiency, the New Buildings Institute, the Building Codes Assistance Project, <strong>and</strong> the<br />

Appliance St<strong>and</strong>ards Awareness Project. He was also chair <strong>of</strong> the Buildings Committee <strong>of</strong> the<br />

National Association <strong>of</strong> State Energy Officials. Mr Wilson has B.A. <strong>and</strong> M.A. degrees in<br />

economics from the University <strong>of</strong> California (Berkeley <strong>and</strong> Davis).<br />
